Hi, first things first… I’m not really called Girl next the Sea. My name is Harriet Cooper and I am an editor, journalist, copywriter and content provider, with over twenty five years' experience.

I first cut my teeth at Hello! magazine and have since worked on the features desk of the Evening Standard and as Features Editor at Red magazine, before heading over to content marketing agency Cedar, where I spent many years working on British Airways’ High Life magazine and The London Magazine.

Since moving from London to Cley-next-the-Sea, a small village on the North Norfolk coast, I now work on a freelance basis, specialising in lifestyle, the arts and culture, and travel.

I am Editor of the luxury style guide The Glossary. As well as contributing to national publications such as The Telegraph, I write for local outlets including North Norfolk Living magazine, Sowerbys Magazine and Best of Norfolk. I also create content for everyone from British Airways and Mandarin Oriental to English Heritage and the Royal Opera House

I’m always keen to hear about commissions, projects, ideas and collaborations, so please do get in touch.
